Frederick Buisson Evans served in the Indian Civil Service and was made a Companion of the Star of India, C.S.I., in 1922. He was born in Hampstead, London, on 9 August 1874, and educated at St Paul’s School and Trinity College, Oxford, from where he graduated 1st Class Mods. 2nd Lit. Hum; M.A. He served in the Madras Presidency from 1898, mainly in the District of Malabar and in the Secretariat. He was Collector of Malabar 1915-19, and special secretary to Government for reforms 1920. He served as a special civil officer in the Malabar Rebellion 1921-22 and was probably awarded the C.S.I. for this work. He was Second Secretary to Government from 1925 and retired in 1928.
