Recommendation reads: ‘On 27 May, 1943, Naik Ganjabahadur Gurung was ordered to take his section up on the left of one of the leading companies to fill a gap from which heavy enemy sniper fire was coming. He placed his section in position and then went forward with one man to stalk the enemy snipers, accounting for several with his Thompson sub-machine gun. Throughout the action he set an inspiring example as an offensive leader up to the time when he himself was wounded and incapacitated’.

The recipient came from Tinghare Village, Giyandi, of the Satdun district of Nepal. With copied research.
