Pirosha Edulji Mistry was granted a commission as a Platoon Commander, on probation, in the 1st (Territorial) Battalion Bombay Pioneers, on 12 June 1922 (Gazette of India 2 December 1922). He was later styled an Honorary Lieutenant. For his services in the Auxiliary Force (India) he was awarded the Volunteer Force Long Service Medal in 1926 - this published in I.A.O. 76 of 13 February 1926.
