M.M. London Gazette 29 August 1918. Awarded for his part in the battles of 18th-22nd April 1918. “Throughout the tour the signallers had done excellent work in keeping the telephone lines repaired in spite of heavy shelling, and they and the gallant runners and stretcher bearers, were not forgotten when the rewards were given out.” The Battalion lost 3 officers and 48 OR’s killed, 3 officers and 120 OR’s wounded and 1 officer and 58 OR’s missing during this period.”
