Approximately 16 M.S.M.’s of this type awarded.
Dated on edge "13 AUG. 1934" which was the date the Admiralty approved his award of the medal and annuity. The actual date of commencement of payment of his M.S.M. annuity was 11 May 1934, his medal however was not issued until 7 September 1934. Born 22 January 1862 at Evesham, Worcestershire. Enlisted on 22 August 1881. Promoted to Corporal in August 1883 prior to serving aboard H.M.S. JACKAL (1884-1886), advanced to Sergeant in August 1886. He also saw service afloat in H.M. Ships URGENT (1892-1895) and VIVID (1896-1898), during which period he had been promoted to Colour Sergeant in April 1896. Pensioned on 21 August 1902 without receiving any campaign awards.
