The IRRAWADDY was built in 1873 by Messrs R. Duncan of Glasgow and engined by Messrs Rankin & Blackmore. Her measurements were length 247 feet, width 28 feet, draught 7.5 feet, gross tonnage was 516 tons. She ceased operating as a steamer in 1906 and was sunk at Kobanee laden with stone in 1913. During the Burma operations the IRRAWADDY was heavily involved in the movement of troops and stores and was often used as a floating headquarters by the military Commanders.
