A late striking with die crack running across animal; minor cabinet friction, otherwise extremely fine and attractively patinated, very rare (£60-80)

Struck to mark the return of the issuer as Member of Parliament for Herefordshire at the Election on 3 June 1796. The obverse symbolises the country breaking free of Tory shackles in electing a Whig.
