The Yorkshire Hussars, a circular pill box forage cap of stiffened blue cloth with applied silver lace oak-leaf pattern lace and silver bullion purl crown ornament, black leather sweat band and red cloth lining with Messrs Hawkes & Co black stamp, paper label inscribed ‘No 21 Bond’, would appear to be NCO’s quality; Junior Staff Officer’s Cocked Hat of stiffened French Plush overlaid with black oak-leaf braid, a broad black crepe cockade with gold laced panel, gold bullion tassels to the end panels, attached period white over red cocks feather plume, internal sweat band and plum coloured pleated silk lining this with gold blocked KC trade label for Jones Chalk & Dawson, 6 Sackville St London W’, the lace dull and some wear to the plush; 2nd Volunteer Battalion The West Riding Regiment, a circular japanned tin (Hawkes & Co) for the 1897 pattern forage cap, the brass name plaque with unit title and ‘Capt WG Wrigley’, good overall condition (3) £80-120
