Lieutenant Philip Linley Reeves served in South Africa with the South Staffordshire regiment and the Lincolnshire regiment (QSA 4 ec., KSA 2 cI.). From 4 March, 1904, he was employed with the West African Frontier Force and took part in the operations in Kissi as Base Officer. He is shown as deceased on the medal roll, 'medal to Mother 5/2/09. ' Approximately 15 clasps were issued to European recipients.
