A privately made Great War memorial plaque commemorating Captain J.A. Benjamin, Duke of Wellington's Regiment, oblong silvered metal plaque, embossed with the Regimental badge, 'West Riding Regt.' on a scroll below, and inscribed 'John A. Benjamin-Capt. 9th Batt. Killed in action July 5th 1916,' mounted on a wooden plinth which is damaged at two corners, otherwise very fine

Temp. Captain John Alfred Benjamin was killed in action on the Somme, 5 July 1916. Sold with a copy photograph and newspaper cutting of the recipient.
