Leonard Charles Shinkfield, 1/4th London, was killed in action on the 1st July, 1916, at Hebuterne on the Somme, France. Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial. He had previously served with the 2/4th London in Malta, Alexandria, Gallipoli and South Egypt.
