Jean Victor Joseph Ambroise Ségoffin (1867-1923), Toulouse-born sculptor and medallist, admirer of Rodin. Writing about Ségoffin’s symbolist medal, conceived in 1904 and issued by the SAMF in 1905, Weil and Coullaré quote from a letter written by the artist in the Archives du Musée du Luxembourg, in which he states: “Sur le revers, il se réveille encore sous l’influence de sa vision et ses idés confuses cherchent à le relier avec les réalités qui l’entourent.”
