Sidney Frederick Watkins served in the Great War as a Gunner in the Royal Artillery. Based at the ‘D. E. Establishment, Gibraltar’, he was entitled to the British War Medal only. In Army Order 136 of May 1926 he was awarded the Army L.S. & G.C. with Gratuity. As a Serjeant in the Grenadier Guards, Watkins was awarded the Army L.S. & G.C. (Regular Army) without Gratuity, notified in Army Order 148 of August 1945. In 1952 Serjeant Watkins was awarded the Army M.S.M. Sold with some copied research.
