Arthur Sidney Warren was born in Lambeth, on 26 August 1868. He entered the service of the Royal Household on 1 October 1892. He eventually became a Livery Porter and completed 43 years of service when he retired on a pension on 1 October 1935. He was awarded the Royal Victorian Medal in the Birthday Honours of 3 June 1930. In addition to the above medals, he was also awarded a medal given by the King of Italy in 1924. Latterly living at 82 South Park Road, Wimbledon; Warren died on 21 August 1936, tragically committing suicide while of unsound mind. Sold with copied research, including two newspaper extracts relating to his death and the consequent inquest.
