From a house clearance in Putney, London;
bt Spink August 1980.

John Dossett (†July 1676), brewer, lived next door to the Saracen’s Head, which was kept by token issuer William Burgess, in Cobblers Row [present-day George Street, Aylesbury]; his wife’s name was Joan (†December 1682). The previously published token of John Dossett (B & M 17), also dated 1670 and only recorded from two specimens in the County Museum, Aylesbury, and one formerly owned by William Gilbert, reads
aalsbvry and has the date on the reverse
