Richard Lucas (†1675), innkeeper of The Red Lion, formerly located at 9 High Street, High Wycombe (demolished
c.1970, now a Woolworths store), was one of the most influential figures in the town. He was an alderman for 26 years, from 1649 until his death, served as mayor three times, in 1660, 1667 and 1672, and was elected a JP in 1662. He took a keen interest in politics and helped to secure the election of Sir John Borlase as MP. Sold with further biographical details
