John Baker Spooner was appointed Ensign in the 24th Foot on 25 December 1813, from the Worcestershire Militia. After service in the Nepaul campaign of 1815-16, he was placed on half-pay the following year. He was appointed Cornet, by purchase, in the 8th Light Dragoons on 15 April 1817, and Lieutenant, by purchase, in the same regiment on 21 October 1825. He was promoted to be a Captain half-pay of an unattached company in the Infantry on 22 April 1826. Sold with copied research.
