John Coppin was born at Cheapside, London, and attested for the 41st Foot at Arnee, East Indies, on 24 February 1835, aged 16 years 8 months. He was appointed Drummer on 4 January 1838 and became Sergeant Drum-Major on 5 May 1854. Drum Major Coppin was discharged at Birr on 14 August 1858. Sold with copied discharge papers.
