William David Joseph Morris was appointed a Lieutenant in the 2nd Glamorgan Volunteer Corps in September 1884 and a Captain in the 3rd (Volunteer) Battalion, Welsh Regiment, in June 1894. Advanced to the honorary rank of Major in May 1900, he was awarded the Volunteer Officer’s Decoration in August 1904 and transferred to the 2nd (Volunteer) Battalion in the following year. It was in the latter unit that he was granted the honorary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel on his retirement in March 1908; sold with copied research.
