Aldridge was promoted to Corporal in April 1925 and to Sergeant in January 1930. He served for several years in the 1st Battalion’s signalling section and otherwise gained a reputation for being a good shot and footballer. Having then been advanced to Colour-Sergeant in July 1934, he transferred to the 2nd Battalion, in which he gained advancement to Company Sergeant-Major in the following year and represented the regiment at the Coronation in 1937. He appears to have been serving at the Regimental Depot in the summer of 1939; sold with copied research.
