Hawthorn Hill racecourse, situated at Redstone Farm, between Maidenhead and Windsor, hosted its first meeting in April 1888. The driving force behind the venture was a Mr F. Headington, who acted as secretary, treasurer and clerk of the course. The final meeting was held in April 1939 and the land is now a golf course
