John Smith, e. Edinburgh, 11th Battalion, died of wounds, France & Flanders 20.4.1917. Sold with 3 pages from the War Diary showing that the Battalion suffered heavy casualties on 12th April: Officers 3 killed, 8 wounded; Other Ranks 160 killed and wounded.
Thomas Craig Fraser, 16th Battalion, killed in action 15.4.1918, near St. Jans Cappel, north west of Bailleul, Battle of Lys. The Battalion’s casualties for the period 12-19 April were 13 Officers and 554 Other Ranks.
