Mexico, Charles III, 8 Escudos, 1785FM, Mexico City, laureate bust right, rev. crowned arms dividing value, assayer’s mark inverted (CC 15774; CCT 99; F 33). Light graze on king’s cheek noticeable on close inspection, characteristic weakness in centre, otherwise extremely fine with full original bloom, rare thus (£450-550)
