Bottée for the SAMF, muse of Poetry walking right, head bowed, holding wreath and lyre, rev. muses of the Arts above tomb of unknown poet, Chronos with his scythe above, 90mm, edge stamped 193 (Maier 33; PBE 25; ANS Exh. Cat. 1910, p.16, 4, and p.306, 2; Coll. R. Marx 124; cf. Baldwin 90, 1942). Obverse with minor staining, otherwise very fine, rare £300-£400
