21st (Empress of India’s) Lancers, A very fine and scarce officer’s lance cap plate c1899-1901, copper gilt fluted rayed backplate with ornate silver overlay, comprising the Royal Arms, crossed lances, ‘VRI’ cypher at the base with ‘Khartoum’ honour above, sprays of laurel and palm to the sides and title scroll at base ‘21st (Empress of India’s) Lancers’, top finial of the backplate missing, otherwise very good condition £400-500
