Walter G. Sansome was mobilised into the 1st Battalion Hampshire Regiment in August 1914 and entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 23 August 1914. He fought in the Battle of Mons, was wounded, 26 August 1914 and was taken prisoner, 19 October 1914. He was held in captivity for the remainder of the war being repatriated in November 1918. He was demobilised in April 1920 and postwar lived at 76 Cuthbert Road, Kingston, Portsmouth. Sold with copied m.i.c. and other research.
