J. B. Kitto was born on 9 December 1918. First commissioned on 26 January 1939. Captain, Beds. & Herts., July 1946; Major, November 1952; Major, 3rd East Anglian Regiment, 1959; retired July 1960.

The Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment did not serve in Malaya as a unit.
