The Castle Comer colliery, located north of Kilkenny, was inherited by Anne, Dowager Countess of Ormonde, from her father, Lord Wandesford. Anne was the patron of the nearby village of Castle Comer, leasing the operation of the local coal mines to entrepreneurs. The reference to SCMB November 1967 in the Manville pedigree for this coin should be ignored
