Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 2 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State (9643 Cpl. J. Ogilvy, 45th Coy. Impl. Yeo.) minor edge bruise, nearly extremely fine £140-180

John Frederick Ogilvy was born in Rathmines, Dublin. A Solicitor by occupation, he attested for the Imperial Yeomanry at Newbridge on 8 January 1900, aged 31 years, 2 months. Posted to the 45th (Irish Hunt) Company 13th Battalion Imperial Yeomanry, he served in South Africa, 13 March 1900-4 March 1901. He was wounded in the right thigh at Lindley, 31 May 1900. He was discharged at his own request at Shorncliff on 3 April 1901. With copied service papers.
