Charles Duggan was born near the town of Bandon, County Cork, and attested for the 22nd Foot at Cork on 15 October 1847, aged 24 years. He volunteered to the 81st Foot on 1 November 1854, and served with that regiment during the Indian Mutiny of 1857-59. Duggan spent the entire period of his service in the East Indies and was discharged on 9 March 1869. Sold with copied discharge papers.
