John Richard Waight served as a Nursing Orderly with Unit 2 of the B.R.C.S. providing care for the Bulgarian sick and wounded during the Balkan War of 1912-13. He again served as an Orderly with the B.R.C.S. during the Great War, entering the France/Flanders theatre of war on 24 October 1914, serving with the Boulogne Unit No. 4.
With copied m.i.c. for ‘Waight’ and ‘Wright’. Bulgarian decorations not confirmed.
