1914 Star, with copy clasp (3996 Pte. G. Jones, R.A.M.C.) 1914-15 Star (49880 Pte. W. Holborn, R.A.M.C.) good very fine (2) £80-100

George Jones was born in Valetta, Malta and enlisted at Devizes as a Private in the Wiltshire Regiment. As a Private in the 65th Field Ambulance, R.A.M.C., he died of wounds, France/Flanders, on 25 August 1918, aged 35 years. He was buried in the Bagneux British Cemetery, Gezaincourt. He was the son of Mrs Sarah Shergold, of Ugford, Salisbury and husband of Annie Jane Jones, of 173 Bridgend Road, Aberkenfig, Bridgend. With copied m.i.c. showing entitlement to clasp.

William Holborn was born in and enlisted at Sunderland. Serving with the 74th Field Ambulance, R.A.M.C., he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 11 October 1918.
