James Edward Castle enlisted into the Hampshire Regiment in March 1886 He served in Burma, October 1889-January 1891; India, January 1891-February 1903; Aden, February 1903-June 1904. He was discharged at his own request on 30 October 1904. During the Great War he served at Home with the Royal Defence Corps, 23 October 1914-7 March 1919. Castle died on 17 December 1940.
