Thomas Osborne was born in Grimsby, Lincolnshire on 3 November 1903. A Fishworker by occupation, living at 7 Lawson Avenue, Grimsby, he enlisted into the Sherwood Foresters on 23 June 1924. Serving with the Foresters, he was taken prisoner by the Germans in Norway on 26 April 1940. Awarded the M.M. for his services in Norway. Osborne was held at P.O.W. Camps XXA at Thorn, May-July 1940; XXB at Marienburg, May-September 1942, and Stalag 357 at Fallen Bostel, June 1943-April 1945. He was released and repatriated in 1945 and returned to his home at 7 Lawson Avenue, Grimsby. He died in 1984. With copied research.
