M.M. London Gazette 20 September 1945.
The original recommendation states: ‘Throughout the period during which his unit has been engaged in active operations, L/Nk Naranjan Singh has consistently set a very fine example of courage, leadership and devotion to duty. With complete disregard of personal safety he has on several occasions commanded mine clearing parties under fire with conspicuous success.
On the night 28/29 January he commanded a section which crossed the River Senio near [illegible] to construct an infantry [foot?] bridge in very close proximity to the enemy. In extremely hazardous circumstances he led his section with great determination and completed the task in less than the scheduled time.
This NCO has been conspicuous for his fearless and devoted service.’
