The Cheshire Regiment Officer’s Blue Cloth Helmet and Named Carrying Tin c. 1881-1901, the blue cloth helmet of early pattern with a rounded front peak complete with all gilt metal fittings, the front plate of standard pattern with central star and Prince of Wales’s crest and motto, title scroll ‘The Cheshire Regiment’, complete with original leather sweat band and attached silk lining, the plate is not original to the helmet; the tin retailed by W. Cater & Co., London with brass name plate ‘J.C. Routh, Cheshire Regt.’, good overall condition (2) £440-500
