D.S.M. London Gazette 16 August 1940: ‘For good services in the withdrawal of the Allied Armies from the beaches at Dunkirk.’
The recommendation states: ‘The ratings employed ashore on the coast, and in Dunkirk were subjected to a considerable ordeal. The following [21 names] are selected from the large number employed, for conspicuous devotion to duty under fire.’ Signalman Mulheron is listed at No. 2 in the order of merit.
