Colony of Natal, Exempted from Native Law Medal, 32mm, silver (William Kumalo Umhlowazi 25th. Oct. 1882.) with loop and small ring suspension, edge nicks, nearly very fine and rare £300-400
This medal was instituted by the Colony of Natal after the passing of Law 28 in 1865 whereby certain natives could be exempted from native law. The majority were awarded during the period 1879-83, largely to natives who had remained loyal to Britain during the Zulu War.
