George H. Davies served during the Great War with the 2nd Battalion, South Staffordshire Regiment in the French theatre of war from 12 August 1914. The Battalion served as part of the 6th Brigade, 2nd Division on the Somme, July - November 1916. Davies was discharged 13 February 1917.
