Auction Catalogue
A German Great War Prussian Jager Shako. An early ‘1895’ dated shako being in a higher form than the later models. All leather body with crazing overall. Both peaks are firmly attached to the main body. Complete with its period leather chinstrap, Prussian Jager pattern front plate, a replacement field cockade in black and white, original Reich metallic cockade. To the interior the 9 tongued liner is intact, heavily stamped to the upper inner crown with a date ‘95’ and re-stamped ‘1902’. Unfortunately a front plate has been remounted on two other occasions, we believe this to be of a contemporary nature, overall good condition £200-£300
