South Africa 1877-79, 1 clasp, 1879 (2022. Pte. A. Brooks. 3/60th Foot.) minor edge bruises, otherwise good very fine £500-£600

Alfred Brooks was born in Blackburn, Lancashire, in September 1859 and enlisted at Liverpool on 30 October 1877. He served in South Africa from 19 February 1879 to 22 October 1881, and was present in the Zulu and the Transvaal campaigns. He was afterwards present at Tel-el-Kebir during the Egyptian war of 1882 (Medal with clasp and Bronze star) and was discharged on 26 January 1884.
