Sutlej 1845-46, for Moodkee 1845, 1 clasp, Ferozeshuhur (Angus Maclood 31st Regt.) edge bruise, otherwise very fine £360-£400
Angus MacLeod was born at Lewis, on the island of Stornoway, Rosshire, and enlisted into the 31st Foot at Elgin on 10 February 1840, aged 20, a labourer by trade. He took part in the actions at Mazina and Texeen in Afghanistan in 1842, and also saw action in the First Sikh War at Moodkee and Ferozeshuhur, at which last action he was wounded by a grape shot in the right hip. He was discharged to pension on 22 June 1847. Also entitled to medal for Cabul 1842.
