Henry Curll was appointed Deputy Assistant Commissary General on 17 October 1844, and was promoted to Assistant Commissary General on 2 January 1856, retiring a few months later on 4 May. He served at the Cape of Good Hope from 1843 to 1849, including service during the Kaffir War of 1846-47. He served in Van Diemans Land in 1849, and afterwards at Hong Kong and in the West Indies. He died in 1870 whilst on half-pay.
