A German Third Reich Private Purchase Mountain Troop Officer’s Bergmutze. A privately purchased bergmutze, lightweight twill material, officers waffenfarbe around the crown, the officers silver wire Bevo T shaped insignia with internal national cockade originally stitched to the front of the cap, twin buttons, original metallic edelweiss badge stitched to the left hand side of the cap as the cap is worn. To the interior the liner band is of the ersatz material, it is all complete but adrift from the main body in places. Inner silk lining in gold with a complete and undamaged centre celluloid lozenge with a Vienna maker or retailer gold blocked to the lozenge. No size stamp but approximately size 56. The peak is of the short bergmutze variety, good condition £180-£220
