A German Third Reich Army General’s Visor Cap. Moth damage has covered virtually the whole crown of the cap, one stain also to the crown, a peppering of moth on the green centre band and a large 6 x 1cm patch has been inserted at the lower part of the dark green centre band at the rear of the cap. The headdress is a double Erel marked piece, the mid tan sweatband is intact with its stamped ‘Erel’ trademark. The remainder of the interior is lined in light green silk with a good clear silver blocked ‘Erel Sonderklasse’ trademark underneath the celluloid central lozenge. A name label with the name of ‘Werner Muller’ is inserted to the section of the lozenge for name tags, it is of an enlisted soldiers variety. The national insignia of the eagle and the cockade appear brighter than the remainder of the cap indicating a possible replacement. The cap is complete with the remainder of its deep gold waffenfarbe with gold cap cords and matching gold side buttons, fair condition £600-£800
