Joseph Bonomi (1796-1878), sculptor, Egyptologist and, late in life, curator of Sir John Soane’s Museum in Lincoln’s Inn Fields, better known numismatically as the designer of a pattern coin with Egyptian images in 1837, subsequently transformed into a series of pattern crowns struck by Pinches to the order of J. Rochelle Thomas in 1893
