Charles I (1625-1649), Shrewsbury mint, Half-Pound, 1642, mm. two pellets on obv., none on rev., King on horseback left, plume behind, ground line below, Declaration in two lines, three Shrewsbury plumes and mark of value above, date below, 60.18g/1h (Morr. D-2; SCBI Brooker 802, same dies; N 2366; S 2922). Skilfully tooled on both sides, typical flan flaw below horseman, otherwise better than very fine, very rare £2,000-£2,600
