Thomas William Frederick Eagle served with the 1/4th Battalion, Suffolk Regiment during the Great War on the Western Front from 8 November 1914. Having disembarked in Le Havre, his battalion transferred to the Jullunder Brigade of the Lahore Division in the front line area of Vieille Chapelle, Richebourg-l-Avoue. He was later attached to the 33rd Division Works Battalion.
