Pelham Stewart Corbould, who was born in September 1880 and educated at St. Paul’s, is believed to have seen active service in the Boer War, but, as with his 1902 Coronation award, his entitlement to the respective Medal (or Medals) remains unconfirmed.

In 1904 he passed the examination for entry into the Indian Public Service, being appointed an Assistant Conservator in the Forest Department, and, as with like-minded civil servants, joined his local volunteer unit - he was duly mobilised in the Great War and attained the rank of Captain. Corbould returned to his appointment in the Forest Department in 1919 but retired as a Deputy Conservator in July 1924. He had, meanwhile, on 13 May 1922, been gazetted for the Indian Volunteer Forces Officers’ Decoration. He died in January 1963.
