Sold with the following forwarding letter from the Chairman of the Women’s Voluntary Service to Mrs Adeane, dated 9 February 1949:
‘I have been asked by the Ameer of Bahawalpur to send you the enclosed photograph and Bahawalpur State General Services (Brooch) Medal, with his grateful thanks in recognition of all you did in helping to run the Bahawalpur Mobile Canteen during the war.’
